Does anyone have any insights on what a typical Sr. Associate Director makes at Boehringer Ingelheim? I have a range of 170-180k which I think is fair but don’t want to be underpaid. Also, any information regarding retirement planning or medical/dental benefits would be helpful. Haven’t gotten much out of HR. Thanks in advance!

18k is a heck of a typo. Do they ask for attention to detail on the job requirements? Yikes. I would agree to try and negotiate after all that time, and if everything else went well. If they don’t come up, and that’s a dealbreaker, leave it at that.
Okay first of all that is way way too many rounds. Second I am so sorry that happened. There is nothing worse than being low-balled after that many rounds of interviews.
Negotiate. Tell them what you see in the market for comparable job descriptions. If they like you, they will agree. Don’t be shy to ask what you think you are worth
This.
It would be very reasonable for you to turn down the job in this situation, but perhaps you can negotiate.
If you *don’t* accept the job, then you can certainly send a letter complaining about the salary & wasted time it caused.
If you do take it then tread lightly here
Counter in the top end of the range. Justify with everything you can based on career progression and growth, but hold firm. If they don’t at least come up to the range, politely decline the offer and then just absolutely shit on the company to anyone that asks about your experience in the interview process.
Assuming that six rounds of interviewing was significant for them as well, that would indicate that you have full justification in believing they wouldn’t want to start over from scratch.
Unless you’re going to “bend the knee” and accept the offer as is, you have absolutely nothing to lose in making your pitch as an approved candidate that deserves a competitive rate.
Depending on where you are that “mistake” is also illegal.
I’d negotiate well into their published range. Personally I would just walk if they don’t move but I don’t know your specific situation.
Stick with the published range or walk. They will hardly ever offer at the top of the range but you should at least get the mid point, if that’s good for you. Typo my @ss.
6 rounds of interviews? You‘re better than I am. I’d see 6 rounds as a red flag, but now you have an even worse red flag of 18k…. From my perspective it’s another red flag…
