I don’t think it had anything to do with you. Lol he was having a bad day. You could’ve said anything and he would’ve been upset. He just needed someone to lash out at.
I personally find it kind of obnoxious when I say "thank you" and someone responds with "no problem." I know that's very common now, but it's just weird. No one said anything was a problem! I was just being polite and expressing gratitude. I don't know how that became a common thing to say, but that's one my pet peeves.
This guy sounds strange, to put it mildly. Your response on the phone to him was perfectly fine. Please don’t let it ruin your day!
I know I’ve been in situations where I’ve said "No problem" to be friendly and laid-back, but some people are very particular about how things are phrased. Now when I'm dealing with someone who’s upset, I like to go with something that feels a little more formal to balance out the situation, like "I’ll be happy to assist with that."
I had costumer who want me to help them. I just try calm as possible with them. I try deescalate everything with costumer. I calmly tell them I can't help them because I don't have key. I can go get somebody that can. They raise tone with me it would not help.
Many times when people are being disrespectful, it is a problem they are having that has nothing to do with you. It is not that you did or said anything wrong. "No problem" is an appropriate, casual response.
I am sorry to hear that. I hace definitely been yelled at on the phone and I know it sno fun. It always makes me chuckle though because people really will just talk to you sideways and I always wonder if they would have the gall to do that to my face.
How did he know what you generation was from a phone call? Did you greet him with your name and DOB? No problem is perfectly acceptable.
