Google docs is the best. Works every where opens quickly. Does everything I need.
Google docs forever and always
MS Word forever.
What’s wrong with Google Docs, I love her 😭 if it’s any help, I usually have to mess with the formatting. I hate the default font and text-size—basically any time I open a new doc, I shift to pageless format, Roboto Mono, 8pt font.
Might help to find the formatting on Docs that feeds your brain the way that does mine?
Just feels sterile. I used to use a program called iA writer that felt more designed and creatively minded, but the syncing to my phone wasn’t consistent enough
Maybe 8-10 years ago I used a program called OmmWriter and stopped using it for a while. I just picked it up again to use on projects where I really need to concentrate. It blocks out all other alerts and notifications on my desktop, takes over the whole screen, and plays some very simple soundtracks in my headphones that allow me to concentrate on what I’m doing. It’s a really simple program without a lot of bells and whistles. I usually copy and paste the result into Grammarly to make sure I haven’t made any glaring mistakes. But OmmWriter has become my latest go-to.
Grammarly still allows people to use possessive apostrophes when describing decades, and it allows hyphens where en dashes should go. It also can’t format an ellipsis.
