Am I the only one that didn’t think it was that bad? Without outright saying it, they were pretty much communicating that yes this is shit and yes the aim is to do as much as possible to make sure we’re doing all we can for I&D?
Felt the same way. It was reassuring. Most people in my network thought it was good too.
God the misogyny / immaturity is just dripping in so many of these comments. Shaheen and Hilary have championed I&D throughout their careers - to the point that some on this bowl will say to their advantage.
They’ve taken the time to digest the news and the feedback versus responding immediately to personal beliefs & fishbowl comments.
1) One Accenture is our brand and our PLC - this wasn’t their choice.
2) If anyone thinks they are pleased by this direction then ?
3) Let’s be honest there are people in UKIA happy w this announcement as they have views on their career development versus people who fall into I&D. Not wanting to litigate that, but it’s not a small cohort and they also represent them.
4) They have said we will keep to country reporting & it remains their leadership objective.
5) How has this turned into 3 women as the problem (some would say see point 3, I disagree).
If we don’t feel that our wider leadership believes in I&D in UKIA, it’s up to many of us who came up with I&D to question that. Simple question like “are there really only 3 — suitable for leadership what about these other people”. Find your allies, check in w the network and rattle the cages if we see a difference in promotions. I know I will be, any many other senior managers if we feel it’s back to the old days

Above is just to flag, we come on here to moan which is great at times but also lots of people read and don’t post so the narrative I responded to could become the narrative which isn’t the case

Shaheen needs to stop using these town halls as her channel my Oprah Winfrey opportunity, it doesn’t work. At least her PR is better than JS’s , they at least give her better lines as cheesy and pointless as they may seem. This whole organisation needs a leadership cleanup , can we have a department of leadership effectiveness here please

A4 - No one can give these assurances. This is dealing with conflicting legal frameworks and the response to what happened two weeks ago is that we will, as we should, adhere to whats legally applicable to UKIA in departure of what has been mandated globally.

I can see that they are saying that it's more or less business as usual and this is important to them but these commitments are only "good" until they take a different role or leave.
Yeah that's the point, they are saying a lot of things but no one is going to follow them.
So basically they are ‘legally’ sunsetting but actually not making any changes? Except from hiring changes…
They said the complete opposite. UKIA cannot sunset a few bits of the the reporting and hiring requirements because of local legal requirements (gender pay gap reporting in the UK and hiring requirements in South Africa)
