Agreed! We don’t even get Martin Luther King Day off…It’s disgusting. State Farm is the only employer I’ve worked for that does not observe MLK Day smh…6 holidays is crazy lol…

like

It doesn’t mean anything. Or rather, this is performative ‘Christianity’ at work.

like

That only effects federal employees

I hope it means we’ll get at least one more floating holiday. As it is, people are constantly complaining about how few holiday’s we get. There is absolutely no reason for us to work the day after Christmas as nobody answers their phone- not customers or attorneys and we just end up having to repeat all of our phone calls.

like

How many holidays off do you get at Progressive? We only get 6 at State Farm smh…

Obviously it means nothing to the private sector. Presidents do this frequently when holidays fall on certain days of the week. This is not a permanent change.

While federal government offices may be closed the days before and after Christmas this year, locations like banks and private retailers will largely remain open.

Hey guys ,
I was a fresher when i joined wipro
My manager has given me rating 1 in confirmatory appraisal on may 18 may which happened after completion of 1 year at wipro.
I raised the issue of rating with my manager immediately , he convinced me not to worry , ratings are already submitted , I asked him to resubmit cause i don't deserve rating 1
So he said he will look if that is possible but didn't changed .Now after 3 months they are pressurizing me to put a resignation, what should i do?

Is it any surprise we’re seeing mass layoff in tech? Years of rich friends hiring rich friends with no work ethic has lead us here. I know way too many tech people who work maybe an hour a day followed by errands and traveling. A lot of getting in these places is who you know, apparently that doesn’t work out like it used to. The amount of people who worked for Meta, Apple, Amazon, etc for a few months / maybe a year is astounding. it’s around that time frame a boss can tell if you’re worth it

I am starting a 4-months internship at a company B in January. However, I just heard from a company T that they will interview me for their full time position.

Company T is paying me way more (twice) than Company B. And I like company T more. However, they want me to start working in February if I get this position. If I end up getting the offer, I will have to quit my internship at Company B, almost immediately after I begin the internship.

Is this okay?

Other than citizenship, are there any other benefits of having a baby in the US vs in India? My wife and I may not be settling in the US, depending on what we decide over time. With that in mind, my wife is siding towards having the baby in India. When I checked online, I don’t really see any benefit except for the citizenship. Any inputs appreciated :)

Currently I make a base of $63k/yr and $1k/mo in bonuses pre-tax. I manage a performance for a team of licensed insurance agents (service-based role in a direct business environment), maintain our business relationships, and support adhoc training needs. Is there anyone else in this type of role who is able to share how this compares to similar positions and your general location?
