I don’t regret doing to law school but I do wish the legal field was a little more reasonable in terms of work life balance. Other fields have more part time options and are more flexible. I’m a lawyer but I also have other interests and hold other roles and it feels like the legal field doesn’t agree with that.
I don’t but that’s because I got lucky enough to work biglaw and pay off my loans quickly. Now I’m just hoping to coast, save, and enjoy the benefits the income provides until it’s no longer bearable.
Only when I make a mistake or have a bad day. The law is incredibly inflexible and soul sucking at times but I like the work I do. I also have hope that as the old guard phases out we'll be able to make meaningful change within the industry to better protect and support our personal lives and mental health.
