I've on a medical leave of absence and will be going back soon. my company offers a benefit where i could ease my way into it through part time for two to four weeks but I'd have a bit of reduced pay which I'm not sure i could afford. been dealing with severe depression and have adhd and my dr suggested wfh initially for a while. the coordinator said there might be a possibility to request an ADA request for wfh permanently but I'm not sure how that may impact me good or bad. plz halp :'(

Request it if you think it'll help. I have all the medical conditions you've noted and took over 1 year off to recover. Do you have disability insurance? Mine covered most of the pay difference while I was PT (2 months) to ease back into working. I don't think the leave itself impacted my career, but the timing (a couple of months before annual evaluations) meant I wasn't promoted "on schedule." I also have a permanent request for WFH, which may be impacting how I'm viewed. However, it's absolutely critical for me to be able to do my job well.

If in the US, get an employment lawyer for OSHA retaliation complaint, this will protect you from the company and your supervisor from retaliation due to your leave. I got let go 4 months after returning from leave. My company also had ‘benefits’ and I worked from home 2 afternoons a week this didn’t stop them taking disciplinary action against me. Get a lawyer.

I received a verbal offer for a VP position at CCB line of business at JPMC in NYC two weeks ago. The recruiter asked for salary expectations but there was no number set. It’s been two weeks since and complete radio silence. I sent an email to a hiring manager a week ago but received no reply. It’s August so people could be on vacation but this is really strange. Has anyone had similar experience?

I am starting to believe 35+ of having not managed my ADHD has really negatively impacted me in career growth etc. I'm realizing a lot of things about myself are because of the ADHD. My boss assigns projects with unclear expectations and provides no guidance on how to achieve them.

I've asked for help, and, to avoid a long post, she expects me to figure it out. Perhaps you go through this too, but when I don't have a clear guide on completing big projects, it paralyzes me because I don't know where to start. On top of that, I have anxiety, so "it has to be perfect".

How do you approach projects when your boss plays the "guess what's in my head" game?

Anyone a manager? I’m recently diagnosed (26F) and I can’t help but beat myself up everytime I fall short of my to do list. Makes me feel like a huge disservice to my team. I’ve been trying vitamin D and working out, but it makes my “highs” and “low” SO extreme. The simplest things are so complex in my mind.

If anyone feels similar, how do you manage these feelings? I’m personally considering switching to an individual contributor role, but can’t help but feel like a disappointment if I do.
