What is the one benefit you would take even if it meant accepting a lower offer? I would consider it for reduced health insurance premiums or increased 401k match

Seriously though, if top performance isn’t enough for a promotion, what is? I’ve been told I’m “critical to the team,” but when review season hits, it’s crickets. Meanwhile the guys who log off at 3PM sharp are cruising right alongside me. Do you all feel like promotions actually reflect contribution where you work? Or is this slide the reality for most of us?

Just got an offer for a role that’s high-impact, cross-functional, and clearly demanding. But the salary was 25% below market! I’m still debating if it’s worth negotiating or just walking away. What would you do?
