I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

Does anyone have any insights on what a typical Sr. Associate Director makes at Boehringer Ingelheim? I have a range of 170-180k which I think is fair but don’t want to be underpaid. Also, any information regarding retirement planning or medical/dental benefits would be helpful. Haven’t gotten much out of HR. Thanks in advance!

Having grown up in Green Bay, COL matters in this discussion. Super affordable community, good public schools, and a great place to raise a family. And the Packers. Yes, the Packers.
You can chase an extra buck, but the grass isn’t always greener.
Yes, cost of living is a factor here I believe as well. Compared to East/West coast or Chicago, it's very affordable. It's a very fun company, I'm proud of the work we do, it's a fun environment and workplace. I do have a CAPM that the owner let me spend 40 hours one week to take the pre-requisite class, but he doesn't really value the certification at all. To be fair, while I am doing project management, it is very low stress, low pressure, and a lot of the PM components are not needed/utilized. Versus, if I did PM for a construction company.
I should add that there are no annual raises. He'll bump ppl $5k once in a great while (3-5 years).
How much experience do you have as a project manager ? Do you have your PMP or any other project management certifications?
My first PM job was 90K with a 10k bonus, 5 years ago.
I’ve moved companies 3 times in the last 3 years and I’m now at 180K total comp (salary plus bonus).
Depending on your experience and your industry, you’re probably being underpaid which is a common con of a small business.
You might want to look at joining a bigger company to get your comp up sooner than later. Sounds like the owner of the smb isn’t going to give any reasonable increases in comp
