Beware the “zombie day”! I warn my high schoolers that the second day after a big break is usually the worst day for fatigue. If a person suddenly changes their bedtime or especially their waking time, the circadian rhythm gets reset.

So the first day you are tired, and your cognition is hampered but it’s a bit like running on adrenaline. But day 2 is the “zombie day”. Fatigue is a better description for how students (and many of us) will be feeling today. Body tired and sluggish.

Good luck!
