I am aiming to become an HR Advisor by the end of the year. I have a 1st class degree in Business with Human Resource Management which is CIPD Level 5 accreditated. Does anyone know of any qualifications or courses I'd need to help me become an HR Advisor?
Also, how do you HR professionals keep up to date with changing employment laws?

I have a friend in London that has a fantastic offer from GS - he will also be in HR. But he currently has a pending charge against him that his lawyer is pretty confident that he can get the case thrown out. It’s an assault by beating charge and was done in self defense after the other person trespassed and walked up to my friend in a threatening way. My friend wants to turn it down as his lawyer doesn’t think he will pass vetting. Given the circumstances, possible he can be upfront & pass bgc?

It’s been nearly 2 years but I still get angry when I think about my manager that I had for an entire year who would constantly yell at me and gaslight me. Everyone else on my team said I did great work while she always brought me down. If you gaslight your direct reports with vague feedback and hustle culture energy, you should probably look inward and question why you’re a miserable human.

Hi! I’m an hr coordinator on a contract. They want to extend my contract, but I was hoping for a perm role, which was supposed to happen. But business changed and that’s not going to happen now. I really need a perm role for benefits, job security, etc. Would you stay with the hopes of a perm role within the next year? I really like this company, just not sure I should hold out, especially since I’ve been going above and beyond my job description. What would you do?
