Are there many legitimate ethical hurdles when switching from insurance defense to plaintiff’s work? I’ve always seen myself as a plaintiff’s lawyer, but ultimately took an ID job out of law school (better salary, no real opportunities at plaintiffs firms that I liked). I like what I do—so far—but I’m constantly thinking about whether the grass is greener.

I have an offer from a start-up which I will be joining next week. Even though I got a hike more than 100% ( current tc: 6lpa, new tc:14lpa) and changed to sde role I am still not satisfied. Seeing all those comp posts on leetcode I felt I can be one of them. But now I am feeling left behind and not able to move on. I know I have no dev experience. But every other person is getting tc more than 25. How can I get rid of this FOMO and focus on learning and growth. Drop your advice in comments sec.

Does anyone have thoughts on the differences between working for larger versus smaller Growth Equity firms? Especially as it relates to career progression, comp, work/life…. Thanks

Need suggestions: So I joined this bank and I was loaned to a different director in my team due to some long term leave for one of his SMs and audit with my director was deferred. The idea was that I would be involved in Fieldwork and take over reporting part. Issue is that I just despise the way this other Director is working. He would assign a task, and then start following up the very next day. And then after I send the document, he won’t even read that for a day!! Contd in comments

Hi Fishes,
I've been offered for Engineering expert position at Novartis India. I've received offer letter 2 weeks back and my DOJ is updated to Mid December. I told the HR that my current company's last working day is on mid January and resend the offer letter with mid Jan as my DOJ. But they told that they can send the revised offer letter 3 weeks before the joining date.
Is this normal process? Has anyone gone through similar experience?

I have a friend looking for a graphic designer that can build her a style guide. Anyone have any recommendations?

Hi all, healthcare question here. If premiums are equal and my employer is funding my deductible under HDHP up to the deductively under the PPO plan being offered, then which plan is preferable and why? I read all the materials about both plans but I’m still not really sure which one is better for me - it seems like the difference comes down to co-pays and the HSA. Any advice or insight is welcome.

What are your strategies for completing work efficiently? How do you figure out how long projects should take? A consistent piece of feedback on my yearly reviews has been that I over-bill & spend too much time on assignments. It’s something I actively work on, but I still have no concrete sense of how long I should spend on basic tasks (e.g., drafting a motion to dismiss). My firm is right to expect that I manage my time better as a mid-level associate. WFH has made my time management worse.

I have 2 offers from Myntra (Associate-M1) and Coinswitch (Business finance analyst) at 1.5 YoE.
Myntra :15.5 base +1.5 joining + 7 stocks(4 years) + relocation
Coinswitch :15.5 base + 1.5(joining+retention) + 2 performance bonus paid yearly.
Which would be a better choice ?
