McKinsey & Company Has any industry experienced candidates pivot to MBB Engagement Manager before? My roommate works at FAANG as Senior Analyst (Ops, 6+ YOE) and was approached by McKinsey & Company recruiter for an EM role. He hasn’t done consulting before. Would this be too much of a risk? His goal is to pivot to PE S&O eventually.

I feel like you’re not asking the right questions. There’s more money at every T2 basically and prob more work depending on what you do at Accenture now. What practice are you in now and what would you gain/ lose other than money by going to Kearney? Does it fall in line with your long term career goals?

I think you captured the trade off pretty well above. Though note that Kearney doesn’t even pay that competitively until you hit the post-MBA associate level.
If you’re taking a level demotion then you will likely make less at Kearney

But the clout K2…the clout!
What position would you be applying for and how many YOE do you have? From what people have been saying about the firm on this app it seems like you may have some weeks where you average a little more than 60, some weeks a little less. If you are applying for associate or SBA go for it.
I actually don’t know the exact role other than that it’s in the Health Practice. I have 3 years of experience at Accenture.

Working 55-60 hrs/week on my current project
Oops. What's your yoe*
I’m currently working about 60hrs/week in the our Life Sciences practice. I enjoy the people I work with but I do feel a little underpaid especially when I see what my friends make in tech even as non developers. That being said I really enjoy consulting. I’m just considering what firm is the perfect balance for me between WLB/pay/opportunity to do cool work.
I mean I would gather more information and interview with them. Take it one step at a time. An interview doesn’t guarantee the job.
