One important thing.. if One Company is offering you Sr. con and other one is offering Con for same package then definitely the company which is offering Sr. Con is underpaying you. Ask them to increase the package and then join them.
@accenture3 then everyone is replaceable and for that matter even job of CXOs are also not permanent.
At the end, money matters but yes along with WLB, benefits etc but they come extremely later.
And as long as you are well connected to the work and tech stacks on ground with functional and non functional aspects, nobody can replace you.
go for money waala offer don’t go for these funky positions.you can get promotion after some time also with internal promotions or switch.
If compensation it is same, go for one who senior con (assuming it would be KPMG).
Reason
1) it is very unlikely you would be promoted in the first year. Shortest would be two cycles. Your earning potential within both will most likely remain same irrespective of designations
2) It is always better to be an underpaid senior con as compared to fairly paid/over paid consultant when you are looking for the next opportunity. Sr. Con. title will give you higher leverage and room while negotiating for the next switch.
3) There is almost no differentiation when it comes to Brand amongst Big4 except some specific niches they have in certain sectors. From an employer brand perspective, all the four are similar and you can easily switch from one to another.
End of the day money matters
If both are offering the same package look for these - culture where do you align better ? People ? Did you really like interacting with the folks and the vibe you got? And finally your own confidence in your abilities. Don’t take a position you are not ready for seen many people take much they can’t chew. If you think you few more comfy with consultant level responsibilities take that. Our career is ours to make, it’s a marathon not a sprint. Being a SC doesn’t guarantee you a promo in 1/2 years especially if you are not able to handle the responsibilities
If salary is same(irrelevant) then lower grade means less expectation & less chance of increment & vice versa for higher grade.
Join as Sr con in P and work for 3 months and apply for Sr Con in K , negotiate higher pay for sr con role
Dont look for the designation look for the salary and other stuff like tech and roles....now most companies follow flat hierarchy so these designation doesnt matter much
KPMG doesn’t have a sr. con level. After cons there is Ass. Manager then Manger. PWC has Sr. Cons. 1 then Sr. Cons 2 then Manager so essentially the position offered is same.
Average promotion time to the next level is 2 years.

Pwc has the best reputation in the Indian market. It has been involved in some major initiatives for the govt as well. I think has one of the biggest foot print as well.
Why don't you try and bargain with them to check if atleast one of them is ready to renegotiate?
If both have same reputation, offering same pay, why not leverage it and let them decide if one of them is ready to lose you.
Beware this is going to be a risky, you need to play it very smartly.
