So I got a call from my Mom the other day telling me she moved her annuity into one paying 6%. Based off of what I read about annuities, I can't imagine what kind of crap she bought to get that 6%.

Now I am now looking to get back into an HR role, preferably in a Benefits Analyst or a Generalist role. What advice do you have for approaching companies? Do they see things like certifications and SHRM membership as advantages?

I'm an experienced HRBP who's looking for some career advancement advice. I'm currently studying for my SPHR and looking to take the leap to HR Director roles. While I'm a strong HRBP, I've yet to manage a team. And while I train managers on people leadership skills, I myself, haven't had a chance to flex those muscles. Those in HR leadership, should I apply for HR Director roles even though I haven't managed a team?

Hi there, I got an offer for an early stage cyber security saas startup in Canada and they offered me 130k base and 10-15% commissions which they estimated at 160-240k additional a year. They only have 1 sales person at the moment and I would be 2nd and they are hiring for 3 more. I’ve always been on a 50:50 model and never done the % of revenue. Average deal size is 40k. I got 12 yoe in enterprise tech sales. No stock options upfront but potentially after the first 3 months. Good deal?

What are well paying HR roles or roles that have an upside in the coming years? Is the only option to get into big tech? For reference, I'm living in NYC with a base of 100K right now. Given the prices in NYC, 100K doesn't seem enough to live here.

Just heard back from my manager that I was promoted!! And my manager told me the raise would start from Apr so I should expect to see a bit extra on my pay check. The question is last time when I got promoted, I was told the same thing that the salary was increased before I was being told about the good news. However, I didn’t see that pay anywhere. I emailed payroll but didn’t hear anything back. I wonder how this kind of things go with you girls. Any suggestions/thoughts would be appreciated!!

Associate in the NY office of a magic circle firm. Been really struggling with mental health issues for a long time - I feel like I’m begging for guidance/supervision and not getting any, and can’t get any support junior-wise either. I just get told I’m doing a “good job” but I’m pretty sure that’s just because no one is looking. Is the expectation just to magically figure out how to get things done solo, even if it’s the first time to do it? Is it better at NY-HQ firms that have more resources?
