Interviewing for a director role in industry, but worried about Covid’s impact. What’s appropriate language to use to ask if my role would be on the chopping block if the company does layoffs?

For someone with CPA and CISA (with experience in both financial and IT audit) who is really interested in fraud/forensics what certification would you recommend? TIA for your advice 😊
Anybody else dreading the world going back to normal? I personally am thriving in the WFH environment and don’t want to go back. My agency will likely be more flexible with WFH even after this madness is over, but I have a feeling taking advantage will bite me in the ass. I’m married with a house in the burbs, all my teammates are single and live in the city a few mins from the agency (& want to go back). I feel like I’ll be forgotten, passed up for opportunities, or fall behind if I stay WFH.
Currently B4 in the US and considering move to Toronto. What is the environment/economy like there now? Consulting dominated by the same firms as in the US? Better opps in industry? Recommendations?
I'm a small 🐠 in a big pond, but I so, so wholeheartedly disagree with the creative choices and management style of the 🐡 I started working under. Does that merit jumping ship for a new team?
I know it's bad form to ever list a client name on my resume, what about mentioning the name in an interview? It doesn't flow very well saying "top 5 global pharmaceutical company" vs. Pfizer
Currently Sr consultant at a boutique firm specializing in supply chain and logistics. Wanting to jump to manager level at a larger firm. How possible is this? Any suggestions where to focus? And what the interview process looks like at manager level?
8 months of WFH sedentary life has finally made me gain a noticeable amount of weight for the first time in over a decade. Clothes aren’t fitting. I feel bloated and gross. I’ve never really had to figure out healthy lifestyle because I walked so much by default every day and have a fast metabolism. Feeling a little lost and depressed. Have any of you figured out good solutions for rebuilding health in this weird environment?
Good questions to ask a founder if you get an interview for a job at a startup? What are some good due diligence items to ensure your making a good decision regarding taking the role or not?
I feel like my coworkers and my boss dont trust me. Everytime im given an ownership to something, someone else takes it over. Everytime I give an opinion, people doubt me eventhough many times a different person bring up the same exact thing I say and everybodys on board. Everytime there is an opportunity to lead, my boss always assigns it to everybody in my position but me. I feel down, like is something wrong with me? What can I do?
has anyone here had to extend their becker? will big 4 reimburse or do they only pay for the initial fee?
As we prepare for the short holiday week, hopefully you can give yourself some space to listen to this audiobook: Outwitting the Devil https://youtu.be/WbWI6Wj9xDI Don’t be put off by the title. The book is written as an interview between Napoleon Hill (Mr. Earthbound) and the devil (our inner dark self), wherein Hill attempts to uncover the secrets to freedom and success by evaluating the greatest obstacles that humans face in order to attain their personal goals in life.
