Have only heard bad things. Check out TLS, well documented if not dated
I have the opposite view: TLS is unnecessarily pendatic and prestige-driven (threads always derail off topic), but I suspect there are way more younger/KJD/LARPers on FB/reddit than TLS
STB is in major growth mode. Hiring is insane right now. Anyone that is decent and shows some level of care is billing +200 hours per month.

Definitely used to be a handful of personalities that were rough. But that was like a decade-ish ago, and at least some are gone. Others could have mellowed a bit? Also not sure it really differs from other top NYC M&A groups (every firm has some bad apples).

I can't say because I myself wasn't in STB mna- I stayed away like the plague. But pretty universally very demanding and rough personalities in the leadership group...I know a few of the worst culprits have left so the tone may have shifted a bit...but let's just say, as a threshold level, that group never hesitated to let summer associates work junior associate hours during their summers
