5 Hour flight. Only one airline with nonstop. Do you use the cheapest nonstop airline (Southwest)? Cheapest non-direct or the airline you have highest status in but that’s more expensive?

I don't know bout u people but I wanna get home and start drinking asap. I don't care how.

I figure out how to make my preferred airline the cost effective option, even if that means a connection.

like

Hahaha, I was in the same situation and I'm taking Southwest right now :)

like

This is why I now have status on United *puke*

like

For a 5-Hour flight, why have the possibility of being stuck in a middle seat? I approve.

@K1 - What if you had enough status to drink ON the airplane?

I’d take the direct flight every single time. Less of a risk of delays. Plus, Southwest is notorious for on-time departure. If you are allowed to expense the early-bird check-in, you’ll be just fine

Can anyone explain the difference between PWC SDC, PWC AC and PWC India?

I am trying to get into PWC. here are a few things I have heard so far. Is this fairly accurate?

1. PwC AC is offshore counterpart of PwC US. Good salary. No travel opportunities. Average yearly hike ~10% Mostly technical work.
2 PwC India is a pure consulting firm. Salary better than PwC AC. client facing work. Can grow as a management consultant. Great Travel opportunities.

For expert witnesses/lawyers

I’m a former forensic scientist that left the field several years ago. I recently received a subpoena from a case I worked and suggested to DA to have evidence re-worked by the lab or stipulation. If I am required to testify (as an expert witness), I would need to book a flight, hotel, etc. My question is this: can I ask for my requested hourly rate, travel, and hotel to be covered when speaking with DA or is that “not how this works” as the investigator put it?

COMMENTS REQUESTED!

In the past, lawyer wellness and lawyer discipline/character fitness for bar applicants have existed in silos. I’d like to finally form a bridge between lawyer disciple and lawyer wellness and focus on prevention. When we think of lawyer discipline, we automatically think of outrageous behavior like stealing money. Those are extreme. The common cases are too stressed out and forgetting deadlines or death of a loved one and not having time to call clients back. Cont’d

What are the real skills to learn to get a leg up for a new data job? Not the wishlists you see on career websites.

I am looking for a new job. I currently work with product data and I utilize vlookup and trim functions more than anything else. Including SQL queries that are already written for my needs. It's the same everyday and I'm done. I'm a quick learner - only earning 53k a year.

Will most companies teach me what I need to know or should I go and find skills to learn on my own?

I'm early in my career, managed to save $30K to invest, and want to get my hands dirty with a rental property without too much risk (e.g. no HML/flipping). It sounds like that's a tall order in the NY/CT area given the prices, not to mention whether I'd be able to get a mortgage on anything below $100K, but I figure I'll give it a shot anyway. Any advice on what you might do in my position? Am I being crazy with this idea?
