How is this illegal? They just wanna raise prices because of inflation lol
Pro
Why would it be illegal? Breach of contract is not illegal - it’s a matter for civil litigation, not criminal law.
Also, most contracts have language about how any renegotiations will be handled, many have clauses specifically addressing inflation.
Rising Star
1. Not illegal
2. Not even breaching contracts unless there are specific T&Cs related to price increase cadence or magnitude
Source: me, a pricing consultant telling most of clients to look for ways to increase prices

I’ve also had client who had very low or negative margin accounts and we go those clients and say “we are going to raise your prices or cancel this contract and force you to renegotiate at higher prices.” Yes it burns a bridge but depending on the service provided (and how replaceable it is) a lot of clients will give in to the price increase
Wait how is adjusting your prices to match macroeconomic trends illegal?
Lots of contracts have inflationary stipulations built in.
Social security inflation adjustment was just short of 6%.. seems par for the course
The client should be like: sure, and we’ll pay you in rubles.

The prices are whatever you want them to be.

They are chosen to maximize profits, but you could legally sell a cam of beans for a million dollars.
I mean, you won't make any sales, but you could make that the price.
