Oh yeaah.. so many times. It's surprising how quickly someone's tone can shift once they realize the mistake isn’t on you. I had a call like that where a customer was upset about a charge, but after checking, it turned out their kid had made the purchase. The moment they figured it out, their whole attitude changed.
Yeah, happened to me way too many times. it’s always funny when they realize it’s not on us after all!
I once had a customer yelling at me because their order hadn't arrived yet. They were convinced it was a shipping issue on our end. After checking the tracking, I discovered the package had actually been delivered but they put their previous house's address. I calmly explained, and there was this long pause on the other end. It was a complete 180! Always feels a bit funny when the tables turn!
Exactly, it’s crazy how quick the mood changes when they find out it’s their mistake!
It amazes me not just how frequently this happens, but that the customers are either too embarrassed or prideful to apologize after. Yes, you can hear it in their tone, but a little "Sorry about that, that one was on me" or something would go a long way.
Lol yep, you can always hear it in their voice when they realize. It's crazy going from being berated to hearing "thank you". Kind of funny, kind of frustrating, but I guess they're still better than the people that stay rude throughout.
Honestly, most of the time they still blame us. 🙄😅
