A drinking buddy is interviewing at my firm who I don’t want to work with everyday. What should I do?

You should do nothing except maybe mature a little

They’ve got a valid concern though, but will still have to set some boundaries with them very early on

How close is his prospective role to yours? If it’s just because you don’t like him, not much you can do there. If there’s actual bad/illegal shit he’s done that wouldn’t show up on a background check, then maybe consider informing HR.

He is in a separate group but his group and mine sit next to each other in an open floor format. He doesn’t have a criminal history, but more that i would not want to deal with him professional everyday
