I have a zoom interview coming up and I'm not sure how to go about properly asking about compensation if it is not my desired salary/pay. Does anyone have any tips about how to do so?

I’m graduating in December, with a background in environmental economics and policy. Consulting didn’t work out this cycle. Made it to final rounds for Bain and Kearney but in the end didn’t get an offer. I want to recoup and try again, but I’m worried that once I’m out of undergrad the door will be closed to starting in consulting.

What can I do to make this happen? I have friends and connections at Bain and Kearney and the other firms as well, but not sure if it’s feasible now.

I started a new job as an “office manager” at the end of January. The duties seem to align more with those of an EA, and I’m ok with that. Except my boss is a control freak. What is the most realistically portrayed military story in a movie you’ve seen?

Take victories and defeats as equals! Nothing will teach young soldiers more than making mistakes in the heat of battle that almost cost you your life. If you're still breathing, there's something to learn. Listen to it.

There is a certain air of respect you get when you become a military professional. As long as you earn that respect, of course. But I like it, it feels good!

Are there a lot of openly gay male soldiers?

I always have faith that everything will make sense, and we will move into a better era. Sometimes it's challenging to maintain that faith, but it's always there.

In the heat of combat, there's no second to waste. I've never felt more focused in my life than when I'm holding a rifle, it is like the rest of the world disappears, and it's just me and the instinct to survive.

Many movies romanticize the sacrifice of one soldier and leave them as a hero, but I have always thought that I hate that. Why would someone need to lose his life to be a hero? I believe the mere fact that we put our life at risk in service is enough to be a hero
