Remember that God doesn’t send anything bad or any punishment. I got layoff in November I was in shock but I was a bitter person in that job cuz I didn’t get along with my boss and coworkers. They were envious and never recognized my accomplishments I was not growing in my careers. Turns out I FOUND MY DREAM JOB. I started today, the boss is amazing, benefit incredible I cannot believe how wonderful God is. He shut down 1 door and open 2.
Trust God no matter what! You will praise him so much and get back to him once you found something new!! Sometimes he doesn’t want us to forgive him. And remember the best is yet to come!
The best is yet to come
A better thing to remember is that Jesus has already taken the punishment for your sin. Expect to be disciplined so that you can grow in faithfulness, and expect your faith to be tested through trial, but don't pay for punishment. I disagree with others that have said the PIP isn't from God. Whether it's from Him or not you don't know, but you do know that He has allowed it to happen in your life. There is a lesson to learn from this process. Go through it prayerfully.
We can’t comprehend the depth of God’s love. He’s really out to do you good not evil
Read this today and thought it might help - 5Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation 6and my God. My soul is cast down within me; therefore I remember you from the land of Jordan and of Hermon, from Mount Mizar. 7Deep calls to deep at the roar of your waterfalls; all your breakers and your waves have gone over me. 8By day the LORD commands his steadfast love, and at night his song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life.
Psalm 42:5-8 ESV
While Psalm 23 tells us how God restores our souls, we can lose sight of the fact that our souls need His restoration. Sometimes we echo today’s Psalm, aware that our soul is cast down, but unable to figure out how it happened. Other times we’re in absolute turmoil and don’t know how we got there.
God’s answer? Trust in Me. “Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.” David knew what to do! When you are downcast or in turmoil, return to God, worship Him, and allow Him to restore your soul. Get your eyes off the situation and back on “[your] salvation and [your] God.” Spend time with Him today and renew your mind in His Word—it will encourage your heart, as He restores your soul.
We are already going to be faced challenges in life. As much as possible we have to try not to make our own life a stumbling block.
Jesus paid the price for our sins on both sides of eternity.
Romans 8:1-2 NIV
1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you a free from the law of sin and death.

A good guide to prayer is to reflect the promises of God.
For example the Lord’s Prayer is a model of how we should pray. Understanding the words beyond repetition helped me.
In the Lord’s Prayer “Thy Kingdom come” refers to bringing his will to earth.
Christians are the hands and feet of God. We should be bringing his kingdom to earth.
Our focus should shift to God’s purpose not our own.
Our prayers should include our spiritually mindedness and less earthliness.
It’s a journey and we are all striving to align to Gods word.
For mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people. Isaiah 56
Why do you think God wants to punish you regardless of before or after? If you have a loving dad, do you think he wants to punish you, or hope you’re able to change anything bad you’re doing and would be there to help you and support you if you went to him and let him know you need his help?

Careful what you wish for! Use it as a time to reflect, reevaluate, and remember to praise God for always listening. You'll get past this and who knows, could be a blessing in disguise. Best of luck to you.
I’ve always handled stressful situations terribly. Maybe he’s disappointed I don’t put my trust in him more often and this is another opportunity to do that.
Yeah I’m trying to keep a positive attitude through it all. Appreciate the response
