A suggestion of bankruptcy of the defendant was filed on the docket in my PI case. My client never received notice via mail or any other notice besides this. I now see a case in bankruptcy court for the defendant with 300+ claims. Spending this morning researching if and how I go about filing my client’s if needed but this is my first foray with anything like this. Any insights? Where to look for more info?

I just spoke with a software architect that went back to school to learn software engineering after law school because it was more lucrative and had less hours. He’s worked his way up and has the skills and authority to work 6:30am-10am and gets to work remotely. We discussed that results/outputs is better than billable time like in law and public accounting. However, they can’t just copy McK with 2K to match because that would look bad so they’ll have to beat it again. Then McK and Bain will follow. Barring a devastating recession, I’m guessing this means MBB is all getting raises again next year?

I give my cell phone to all clients routinely. However, there are always 1 to 2 clients who abuse this and it seems as soon as their cases are over I find a new one and it is making me rethink. I hate to do this because 98% do not abuse it and I like being connected to my people. Thoughts??

What’s a good LA or NY business litigation firm and salary to expect? I’m a 2yr with quite frankly a lot of experience across civ rights, PI, excessive force, wrongful death, employment defense, K dispute, corp. structure dispute, professional licensure. Write every kind of brief, appeals, argue motions, take depos. Am the only associate working directly under partner on all cases. In house or M&A/Real Estate Transactional are likely the end goal but want to get the litigation out of me first.

What’s the learning curve making the move from ID to PI? 6th year at an ID firm and just got an offer from a good PI firm, but just nervous bc I’ve never been on the plaintiffs end before.
