I mean are we really that surprised by this? I cannot even imagine raising kids in this crazy world that we live in right now. I think about having to send them to school and I start getting anxiety. Its hard enough to take care of myself right now, let alone another human being.
“In today’s world” what do yall even mean lol. I have one and am close to our second and it seems easier than it ever was for my parents.
I mean, I live in today’s world and wanted kids so I went ahead and had them. No regrets yet!
I sometimes think parents bring this stress on themselves but I will say the rising costs over the last four years have been insane and I’ve been able to weather the storm so I’m fortunate
My wife has a family
Emergency so I’ve got my two boys at home all weekend. We have some stress but overall we’re going to enjoy the weekend. Kid played soccer this morning, we got some donuts after. Now video game and naps the rest of the day. Life is grand
No surprise! Parenting really is the hardest job one could ever hope to have, and it adds so much stress on the marriage. You’re literally responsible for a human being or multiple. I guess it shouldn’t be easy, but damn.
It’s gratifying for me and ny husband to know that we raised three extremely decent, kind, independent men. I can’t ask for anything more. ☺️
Good. This seems like groundwork for women’s rights.
Is this an Onion article?
No, not at all. This is a legitimate surgeon’s general warning. I saw the report a week or two ago. But hon, it all makes perfect sense if you think about it. Raising kids in todays world is a living nightmare for many parents.
I saw this! And actually it makes sense. Raising kids in today’s society is a nightmare. The finical burden is almost unmanageable and kids having access to the internet and cyber bullying has raised depression and anxiety in kids and the parents feel that as week not to mention having both parents out of the home working full time, I am surprised more parents don’t have breakdowns.
I don’t think parenting has ever been easy or cheap. I remember when my mother didn’t have a car at home w 7 little kids. She used cloth diapers. We only had one car 😳
They’re was no childcare centers when my kids were little. I guess you could find a mom who took in kids for extra money, but childcare was a struggle then too, just in different ways.
One thing that I benefited from, that neither my mother nor my niece had was that I lived through my 3 miscarriages bc I was given the health care I needed, including abortion type medication. I didn’t have to think twice about this as I was dealing with my own difficult journey. I feel for the young women in this country and don’t understand the desire and push to go back in time in terms of implementing stupid laws and policies about women’s health.
