Advice for what to say in interviews when going consultant to consultant in the “why looking for a move” question

Is it appropriate to ask salary range in screening interview? I’m interested in the job but no salary was disclosed. I make decent now but don’t want to waste my time or recruiters time if pay is low

How many interview rounds are typical for a general corporate in-house role and how many interviewers would be typical in each round? Let’s exclude initial screener interview with HR from the equation.

Came from industry and spent few years in consulting. Want to go back to industry desperately for work life balance and decent pay.. took a big decrease to try consulting. Best way to get back in industry is what now a days? Networking? How do I explain the 3 year gap in consulting appropriately to minimize negative perception? Really just want market value given experience and to not work on decks all day. All the interviews I’m getting are for other Mgmt consulting lead roles. TIA.

I got to the final interview for a position that I felt very confident in and have had great communication with HR. But then I’ve received a generated system response (not HR) saying I was no longer being considered. I’ve reached out to HR thanking for their time and any feedback, but have had no response. I am now over analyzing the situation but I don’t know what I did wrong or why I wasn’t chosen. It’s not so much the job, but the lack of personal communication and being sent a robot response

How good are p2p interviewing sites (e.g pramp, interviewing.io) for practicing system design interviews? This is the interview format I’m least comfortable with so I definitely need the practice. My worry is if people giving the interviews are also inexperienced, doesn’t that defeat the purpose? Are there other alternatives (paid acceptable) that better mimic a real system design interview at FAANG if you’re in a time crunch?

I am at my wits end. 8 months of interviewing, recruiter after recruiter, rejection after rejection. I get tons of interviews (so my book and resume must be ok). I make it through to last rounds (so my interviewing must also meet the mark). I do test assignments and receive very positive feedback. Yet once again, today. Another... “we’re going with another candidate” email. Suggestions on what y’all do to not feel like giving up entirely? What do you tell yourselves to keep the faith?

How is it even possible to go from consultant to FAANG PM? It seems like every role requires tons of technical skills and at least 5 years of PM experience. Yet, somehow, people have made it. How?

I'm thrilled that recruiters have reached out to me for a role I love at almost double comp. I can do/do/have done every responsibility for the role, but one part of the description gives me pause--it requires 10yrs experience in this space. I have 5.5 directly applicable and another 6 that's applicable but not often considered (I had a unique military job). And, this particular leadership role has not been common in corporate America before a couple years ago. (Cont.)
