McKinsey & Company I am entering in the interview rounds with McKinsey and wondering if anyone had tips, online course advices or materials to share!
Also would anyone be interested or knows anyone to do a coaching session that has already worked in Mckinsey? Thanks! McKinsey & Company @

Always preface the answer with... sit back relax and grab some popcorn! 😀
Grew up in X, went to x school, always interested in x, which is why this opportunity interests me so much. Normally less than a minute, and they will ask questions if they want to know more.
Your story should start with the value you’re going to bring and why you have the skill sets to bring that value if you want to close the tell me about yourself with some of what you’re looking for in a role that’s fine, but too many people think “tell me about yourself” is code for “give me your life story”
I don’t care why you’ve jumped firms if there’s a story behind it. If you don’t have an overarching story to tell me, I’ll end up convincing myself that you’re a job hopper. Advice is to not think about the small details around why you hopped jobs but how it fits into the broad story of what you’re bringing
Look it up on YouTube. This needs to be a story of your life well-edited and relevant to this particular opportunity.
Do not under-estimate the importance of this question. I know by the end of this if I want to dig deeper or not. You need to show a bit of personality and values too.

Keep high level but relevant to the role.
Assuming they have my resume in front of them, I usually start with my specialty with x years and y verticals I’ve worked in in the field (sets the context), then talk about what my current role solves for the org, briefly highlight a major accomplishment and go into what I’m looking to achieve in my next role (which should fit into the role you are applying to).
In my past 6 yrs of consulting, maybe about 2.5-3 yrs relates to the specific role considering ive worked in many domains and with many technologies. Do you recommend I only bring up the roles/projects that are relevant?
