After being an RN in peds for 8 years now, the thought of doing this for another decade is stressing me out. I feel like I need a change of pace, so I've been checking out job postings for PACU and ER lately. If you switched specialties after years in one area, how did you handle the fear of starting over? Was it really worth the jump?

I have switched a couple times now and honestly it has been worth it every time. If you are starting to feel burned out, then it is definitely time.

I can’t answer that but I would say if you’re getting burnt out, why don’t you try something else? I’m sure it’s well worth it.

I left my job about a year ago to relocate, make sure it was the right decision and start a side business in the mean time. Now I’m actively looking for a new sales position, have tons of experience, but am struggling to even get a response from job apps. I am wondering if this is because of my employment gap? I don’t have my side business listed on my resume because I don’t feel like I have enough positive “stats” to report yet given it’s new. Any advice or recommendations?

I can really use some direction. My background, I've worked 2 years in strategy and am currently coming off an exhausting year 2 in investment banking. I didn't particularly enjoy either role and am not interested in moving over to the buy-side or some monotonous FP&A role. Everybody says there's exit-ops aplenty, but I find myself with less options and even more picky than I did as an ambitious T2 undergrad student. Where do I go from here?
