After many years in this business I haven’t been promoted beyond my current title of Senior Art Director. I recently was hired by an agency I respect, but most of my colleagues are considerably younger and outrank me. This is taking an emotional toll because I feel that if haven’t been able to move up in my career I either don’t have the needed talent or drive, or both. And now I’m in environment that reminds me that I got quite behind. Any words words if wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

I get so anxious when I have to give my availability for an interview before I start a new freelance job.

Ever had one of those days where everything is just making you cringe so bad, to the point all you want to do is sit on the ground and cry?

Today is one of those days, and even when I know things will get better or "this too shall pass", I am sad, I can't enjoy whatever good there is...I feel powerless.

Now entering my third week of no booze, after getting horribly and embarrassingly wasted at my work summer party. I won't lie, even though I find myself wanting a drink often, it feels really good.

Would it be bad if I change my start date? I proposed to my employer a start date 2 weeks after I quit my job, but now that I think about it, I feel like I need a week to recharge before starting a new job.

How can I live with my decisions and stop changing my mind about things?

My last therapist keeps coming up in my mind. I left her when I moved to a new area before COVID dug in and frankly it felt like leaving a girlfriend. She also disclosed in the final session that she was a member of AA and knew several of the people I occasionally discussed from the rooms. Her knowledge of the program certainly built trust with me early on, but it has been two years. I discussed it with my current therapist but she’s still in there. Any advice?
