After what age does it get difficult to switch companies? I feel I am far behind people my age in terms of compensation (as I had other priorities in my 20s). I don’t mind being slow but don’t want to stop growing at all. Genuine answers please.

I’ve been interviewing for new positions to leave PA. But in my current position, we’ve been adding quite a few new projects (and our team is partner, two staff, and me) that will probably start over the next couple of months. I don’t think my boss has any idea I’m looking to leave - anything I should do to not feel guilty about potentially leaving them short staffed with a ton of work? Is this something you think about when looking to leave?
