Layoff going on in Synechron ?
I got a remote L6 SWE offer at Google but the RSUs are too low for that level ($625k over 4 years), could not negotiate it higher. I’ve accepted the offer but trying to be hopeful that I could make it more equitable in the future if I perform well. Are stock refreshers based on the initial RSU grant or solely based on performance? Google

Touch. By that I mean, take breaks during the day, minimal several times a week where you get touched & can rest even for 30-60 minutes: pedicure during lunch time (then eat at desk); simple manicure where they massage your arms, cheap foot massage, quick facials, some Indian threading salons do hair oil massages (using coconut oil) which is great esp if you have braids, twists, Afro (short or long) and other natural hair styles. The relaxing touch of others is another person caring for you, which in a toxic workplace is a wonderful change
I have been suffering from some pretty significant burnout over the last several months which has been impacting me at work and at home. First, I am a huge advocate of therapy. If you aren’t working with someone individually or even attending a group where you feel safe and heard, it may be a good time to start. This can help you get the tools you need to meaningfully communicate to the others in your life how they’re impacting you.
Outside of that, I have recently started walking a lot. I probably spend 2 hours a day just walking around town. It gets me away from my computer for work and out of the house with the family. Nobody comes with me, it’s just me and my headphones. I try to tune out so much that I don’t even listen to any music with words. I’ve learned so much about myself/my triggers spending this time alone in a way that isn’t sitting on the couch rotting/doom-scrolling.
I truly hope you work through whatever is challenging you right now. This job is difficult on its own. It is even harder when we don’t prioritize taking care of ourselves.
That’s actually an impossible situation. At the very least, it’s not sustainable in the long run. Something will eventually have to give, whether it’s your mental health or the job. If you’re in a situation where you can’t leave the job or the place of safety, you have some serious work to do as far as finding healthy coping skills, effective de-stressing, time management, separation of work and life, managing expectations of the people around you, etc. Speaking as someone who has been in this situation, I tried my best for as long as I could, but I couldn’t make it work. I had to get out.
