Toronto ad fish 🤠 I’ve spent most of my career working as a copywriter in London (6 years here, 2 years Toronto) and the market is pretty different here. I’m planning on moving back home but wondered….how do you find work in Toronto? Agencies barely post openings, is the recruiter scene strong? Is it mostly who you know?

Was probably reference for the shoot tbh.
In fairness, it’s a fairly quick insight that fun family days out make for quiet car rides home. It’s hard to say that one brand owns that universal truth or moment. Disney did do it better though.
Courage studies the award shows religiously. It’s why they win so many awards. If an idea has won before chances are it will win again if modified. How much you modify it is what takes courage to do.
I mean yep. Rethink knows exactly how to game awards and Joel / dhuval etc just took that concept with them and ran with it.
If I get 50 likes, I'm gonna comment this on Courage's Linkedin post.
Joel Holtby removed your comment ??
Everyone who worked on this should feel embarrassed. The Disney campaign was a big reference point in the industry at one time - it wasn’t some one off awards bait no one heard of. Blatantly copying someone else’s idea is just lame.
They almost certainly did Google it
Yeah, where does OP think they got the idea from?
They copy like this a lot. A lot of their KFC work is blatant rip offs.
How are they able to keep doing this? We need good shops but we also need shops with integrity…
I dare someone to post a '"Throwback to this amazing campaign that Disney did!" , with 0 mention of courage or this campaign.
50 more likes and I'll do it.
Ale has gotta be making great $$ between courage and rethink
Karmaaaaa
Disney’s:
I mean, you still need Courage to copy an idea!!!
I think they blocked me. Don't know if the comment still exists!
Instead of acknowledging it, they’d rather pretend it didn’t exist? lol.
lololololol Classic!

Would they really copy it though? Maybe they’d never seen it and stupidly didn’t google? I just can’t imagine intentionally copying a campaign. Especially one so well-known.
You are
Now, all the 52 people liked, y'all have to refer me to jobs in your agency. There are chances I might be boycotted by the Ad Mafia.
You might be banker-turned strategist-turned-banker 😂😂😂😂
There’s a French guy whose blog is all about copycats. Joe La Pompe is his name. https://www.joelapompe.net/2026/03/10/children-faling-asleep-on-the-way-back-fatiguant-a-la-longue/
You can actually vote if you think this is a copycat or just a coincidence. Honestly, in an industry that’s over 100 years old now, it’s hard not to think of something that has been done before, but it’s even harder to believe they didn’t research that idea before. I mean, Google it or paste this in Gemini with a simple “was this idea done by anyone else before?” prompt to be sure.
Yep
This looks familiar but it wasn’t obvious at first. But ya I kinda remember that campaign I guess?
Good!
