Unless you’re going for partner one day, no, especially if you get to be on the website (I.e., outsiders can’t tell whether you’re a normal associate/counsel or something else.
I mean, as referenced by the other commenter, it’ll make it hard to become partner, so if you want to make $500,000 or more a year someday and run the place, this is a bad move. But if you just want to work and get paid a middle class salary, this seems fine.
That sounds like a chill role.
I’d make sure you’re ready to retire like that. Years ago, when I was killing myself pulling all nighters all the time, my husband was really bored (working like 3 hours a day at a job that loved him and paid him very low six figures) and I thought he was crazy for wanting to be challenged, but he really did want more and is happier now even though he’s got a real billable requirement.
Personally, I’ve gotten challenged enough, especially now, and would be fine coasting for the foreseeable future. I’m planning on a part time transition now but I’m pretty senior and will still have a lot of responsibility, so not as chill as what you’re considering.
