An executive recruiter informed me that most of the roles at Microsoft are filled by internal candidates, ranging from 80 to 90 percent. I share this to manage your expectations realistically. Despite being the only external candidate who reached the 2 final loops (where 200-300 people applied for each role), I lost the position to an internal candidate. However, I remain determined to keep trying until I succeed.
