Any Community Managers with startups? What has been your experience? Any red flags I should know of? A startup just reached out with a job opportunity, but they're pretty fresh with a pretty underdeveloped social media footprint. What should I look for? Any insight?

Having a strong Maint Supervisor is key. There will be lots of meetings/walks with regards to construction and the systems/processes. Having someone to deal mainly with that side of things while you can focus on marketing/sales is key.

Have they done anything to try to assure you of the company's health? I definitely do think it's a risk to join a new start up that seems to not yet be established online unless you have some kind of assurance that things are going well.

The only downside with working for a startup especially with people who have never owned a business before is that they have unrealistic expectations of growth and don't always listen to recommendations

Hello! Looking at an opportunity with established startup in UK that's just been acquired by a large co. I'm US based and my salary is around $250k (NYC) -I've been asked my expectation without the startup giving me a range to work from (though I've asked). I'm not sure how to reply to them because I have a feeling that my requirement may be out of their range and while I don't want to undercut my value, I also don't want to be cut out of the process because it's an interesting co. Any advice?

So I say this with complete humility and an understanding that this is a fortunate-ish situation to be in. I’m in a position where I am tied to nothing, I have no children, spouse, or house. My job, which I’ve loved until some recent significant leadership changes, is sucking the life out of me and I think it may be time for a change. Because I am able to “pick up and go” I’m open to opportunities and locations. I’ve never worked with a recruiter but was hoping I could get some recommendations!

Has anyone been successful negotiating a “breach notification costs” provision in contracts with vendors? What are some good args to include it? I was supportive of Lori when this virus first started but her actions since have dwindled my support of her. I don’t expect her to make every decision correct nor do we have to agree with all of them. I believe she should be correct around 75 percent of the time but I believe she is in the 50 percent range. I know everything doesn’t fall on her shoulder but things haven’t been great as of late. Hopefully they figure out something soon.
