There is this big bank where I'd love to work at, and after several interviews for various positions they end up promoting someone from within, even thou I understand it and think it’s good they promote their people, it left me feeling like I'm just being used to comply with the process.

Does anyone have any metrics/ benchmarks they could share on diversity hires? We're putting goals together for 2023 and our senior leadership wants 30% of all candidates interviewed and hired to be gender or ethnic diverse.

1st yr at a nyc v50 firm doing general transactional work. I know the lateral market for transactional lawyers is hot but not as hot for juniors. I just want a change of scenery because my current firm is bleeding good associates / not giving great training imo / and just seems small. Would lateralling this early feasible? Networking question here. A retired partner at the firm I used to work out reached out to me recently about attending an afternoon during the week (b4 4/30) with one of his long time clients. The partner and I have kept in touch since I joined my new firm and I feel like his invitation is a great networking opportunity since the client (who I have worked with before) is on a number of boards. Torn as how to request off as an S3. Could materialize to nothing but could be good for reconnecting.

Any tips for how to better implement feedback on drafts? My work is so heavily redlined that I struggle to consistently follow through with every comment/feedback. I am in patent prosecution, so it is a lot of detailed technical writing, but is also fairly formulaic, which is nice. Thankfully the partner I work with is extremely patient and a very good teacher, I would just like to be better at learning from his very thorough feedback.

I recived mail from Deloitte USI HR requesting my last 3 months pay slips and filled CTC data sheet and Aadhar, PAN. Does this mean i got through or selected ? I didn't recieve any formal communication whether i am selected or not.
