Hi, do you know of any opening as a production manager making at least 120K? I can really use some direction. My background, I've worked 2 years in strategy and am currently coming off an exhausting year 2 in investment banking. I recently got a job offer through a company that offered me the high end of what I was asking (75k) but since it is the high end of what I asked for, do I have room to negotiate? Anyone have any thoughts on a fair salary for a part time virtual tax prep-focused position? I’ve been made an offer for south of 800 hours/year (fluctuating for seasonal ebb and flow, of course), and I’m curious whether it’s a decent offer or not. I have 13 years of experience in a big box franchise where I’ve handled complex returns from day 1. 30% of my workload has been 1120/1120S/1065 and the rest higher-level 1040s and a few 1041s & 990s. I’ll be bringing 75-100 clients with me.

When the IRS (e.g., a RO/AO/Examiner) calls or writes a letter… How do you verify that it’s really the IRS and not a scam? I’m new to tax law and I’m worried that I’m going to respond to/answer a scam and give away client info (or my own tax preparer info). I don’t think my worry is unfounded due to the tremendous amount of tax/IRS scam out there but it would be nice to hear from some of y’all so that I’m not so worried about it…

Other than general tax and estate planning, what are some practice areas can a Tax LL.M. be beneficial in? I’ve heard it can help you in M&A, but I’m curious if anyone has additional thoughts
