Any other dads experience anxiety and/or sadness when coming back to work from parental leave? I’ve lately been very nervous/anxious about returning and experiencing sadness in the mornings. What advice do you have to transition back after an extended leave?

Just did this myself.

Yes, anxiety. I tried to not think about it.

Overall, felt it took about a month to get back into pre-leave productivity. It was hard.

I’ve been trying to be super purposeful about evenings and weekends. Make fun plans for weekends and all so those really feel like great connection moments. Otherwise though I’m sort of the opposite… I was out a long time and reached my limit of full time dad. I need the balance so it’s been nice to be back. I just wish it was more of a true balance… weekdays we get so little time with our kid. Sucks.

I knew I would have this issue and I was damn right. I enjoyed consulting lifestyle of travel and networking but I no longer want that after my first kid.

So I decided to leave EY after my paternity to go work for an industry, no travel and hours are less brutal

Just came back after a 7-week leave - it’s tough for sure. Luckily, I have a team that is supportive and understands that it will take some time to get back to pre-leave productivity and I have an awesome direct report who I can lean on as I ease my way back

Hi guys

This question may not be related. However I wanted to know from personal and family point of view how it is like to relocate from India and live abroad .
Let's say Family consists of husband , wife and a kid . I understand we will get good facilities, education, cleanliness , good air etc , however I wanted to check whether people gel up easily in the new environment? Don't they feel loneliness/ difficult to adjust? Do they look for similar asian nationalities to kill boredom?

Anyone here adopt a puppy during the infertility struggle? Husband and I considering it to have something positive throughout this situation and thinking the extra companionship would be helpful. I work from home. Husband has had many family dogs and lots of experience with it, I’ve had a family cat before. But not sure if it’s actually a good idea - wondering if it would truly help make us feel better and keep our minds off of the struggles or if it would just add extra stress. Thoughts?
