Yes, anxiety. I tried to not think about it.
Overall, felt it took about a month to get back into pre-leave productivity. It was hard.
I’ve been trying to be super purposeful about evenings and weekends. Make fun plans for weekends and all so those really feel like great connection moments. Otherwise though I’m sort of the opposite… I was out a long time and reached my limit of full time dad. I need the balance so it’s been nice to be back. I just wish it was more of a true balance… weekdays we get so little time with our kid. Sucks.

I knew I would have this issue and I was damn right. I enjoyed consulting lifestyle of travel and networking but I no longer want that after my first kid.
So I decided to leave EY after my paternity to go work for an industry, no travel and hours are less brutal
Just came back after a 7-week leave - it’s tough for sure. Luckily, I have a team that is supportive and understands that it will take some time to get back to pre-leave productivity and I have an awesome direct report who I can lean on as I ease my way back
