Pay for 3-4 lessons, 1 month apart. Practice at the range in between. It’ll cost some money, but you’ll advance wayyyy faster than trial and error on the course (and probably the same cost)
Yeah seconding picking 1 thing to work on at a time. Do not try to build every part of a swing from scratch. I play a lot of golf and have played since I was 5 years old and have taken lessons.
Good coaches will know this and good coaches will also not try to force you into their idea of a good swing, but instead take what you have and add incremental changes for improvement.
I’m 32/F and just started within the last year and love it! Definitely take lessons, I started with 5 lessons and really helped with the basics, understanding the game, etc.
I’m 29 and started this year in March. I bit the bullet and just found a Golftec and pay for the 2 lesson/4 practice per month plan. I just shot 102 on Friday which I think it’s pretty decent for someone who never swung a club only 4 months prior. So yeah I’d recommend golftec with the 2 lessons per month and practice at least 1 a week
