Any predictions for future travel requirements for AlixPartners post covid? I'm thinking of applying to AP but the rumors of intense travel have me hesitating now that I have 2nd child on the way.

It’ll look different in the future and be dependent on client and project team needs. We haven’t declared changes yet but there is a taskforce working on it. We’re a firm that skews older (lots of people with kids), and one of our ERGs is a working parents group. You’re not alone.

Just to be clear - the “rumours of intense travel” is the standard 4-days a week, like other firms.

likesmart

Thanks. Yeah, was wondering if AP would expand more remote options and not require to be on client site 4-5 days a week

Here to confirm what’s been said before, pre-covid we traveled M-Th. Don’t understand how that’s any different than other firms.

likehelpful

We travel M-Th in EI. TRS may have cases that require M-F and even the weekend.

The only intense part is we don’t have a regional staffing model (cross-country is not uncommon if you live on either coast). Also, our business class policy is not very generous (6+ hrs or red eye) compared to some other firms.

Occasionally. You’d be amazed how many 360s/global services/concierge keys fly into & out of hubs every Monday and Thursday.

Speaking only for myself - I think we go back to M-Thursday with more flexibility depending on project.

I have been working remotely since covid getting nothing but positive reviews. My company is not remote friendly and is now telling me I have to return to the office or I lose my job. I just found out a co-worker had a remote position created for them, without a job posting, without an interview and without the experience required (normally a license or certification would be mandatory). I understand life isn’t fair but is there an ethical problem with this?

Did a first interview with hr rep, went very well. she set up the hiring manager meeting for a few days later. Met with the manager. Another great conversation, went over time and was told I’d hear back about panel set up. Following day I get a request from hr rep to “continue the conversation” with manager. This is set up Tuesday.
Why do you think the manager wants to meet again? Good? Bad? I felt great about the interview when we ended.

Hey All,
I finished a third round interview, and HR contacted me that afternoon saying I had positive feedback across the board and they would contact me the next day regarding next steps. It’s been two days and they finally get back to me saying they haven’t been able to sync with the hiring manager but will keep me posted. Honestly I wish they would talk with the hiring manager and then let me know the decision instead of checking in. It’s messing with my emotions.
