Any senior associates feeling behind? In RX, had a few slow years as a mid-level, and now feel like I am not equipped to do senior-associate level work but know that that is the expectation.

A lot of Rx attorneys are in the same boat because there was an extended slow period. Nature of the practice is also very different than others where mid levels can run ~10 of the same deals every year and become “experts” fairly quickly. Way more variation on Rx deals, particularly in court where key issues differ so much across transactions.

Im in finance and def feel this way. Im a 6th year so get a nice mix of mid and sr work. Im good at the soft skills (i.e. keeping different items moving, not having stuff fall between the cracks, being responsive) but the actually substance and high level drafting is beyond me.

My goal is basically get 1 more 6 figure bonus then dip to in house

Yes 100%.

Question to Leadership!
1. You are calling all the employees in the office & just providing lunch? That's all for completing 150 years?
2. You would ask questions, and whoever is able to answer it, you will give some merchandise only to them?, And the other people are not your employees?
Why are you even organizing it? You think people would come from far places just for lunch?

Additional Posts in Big Law

I’ve made it 5+ years in a NY M&A practice and have consistent exceeding expectations reviews. I’ve had a few mental breakdowns because of work during this time, but thankfully made it through. I’ve been in a near constant depressive/anxious state for family reasons for the last year and half, and am soon having my first kid. I’m scared shitless that I’ll spiral out of control both at work and at home if something doesn’t change soon. Any suggestions on how to keep this job and keep it together?

No shade at all to those with different systems, just genuinely curious because I see a lot about catching up at month end on here and I have no idea how that works??

Tips for bankruptcy associates who eventually want to move in-house? 3rd year associate in bankruptcy/restructuring group doing mainly bk lit but a few deals too.
