What is vacation?

Just came back from 3 weeks of wedding and honeymoon. Was left alone the whole time.

Same but 5 weeks - was so amazing

I’m taking 10 days in a few months. I know some who have done 2 weeks straight. I say go for it, plan it early, let your team know well in advanced, arrange coverage and enjoy it
Yup. Planned it around the Christmas/New Years holidays, which tend to be slow in litigation.
Do it. If you’re getting coverage for time off, taking 3 weeks instead of 2 doesn’t make much of a difference.

I took three weeks after a trial. The partners encouraged me to and everyone was super respectful of my being out - I got fewer than five work emails directed to me the whole time. I'm not sure I'd take three weeks just as a general vacation, but if there's any kind of distinctive rationale (post-trial, honeymoon, etc), then I'd do it again.
Getting work emails directed to you during actual vacation just kinda sucks and doesn’t seem a lot better than what I imagine fully remote work is like. When you’re fully remote, you could be in Hawaii and do the same thing but not technically be taking your real vacation time is all I’m saying.
I did!
Yes. It was amazing.
Hoping to do that next year for my honeymoon!
Yes, as a first year during August, after I hit my hours in July…
No one emailed me while I was out and everyone supported it.
