Most of the best appellate lawyers in Texas are in other cities. GDC has a bunch of talent in Dallas. Lehotsky Keller has an office in Austin (Keller used to lead BB's practice; they also hired Kyle Hawkins away from GDC). Two of Kirkland's three Texas-based appellate lawyers are in Dallas. Yetter and the other lit boutiques have a handful of strong appellate lawyers, but they don't have the same national presence as some of the big firms.
They do trial work too. know they (relatively) recently represented Tesla in a cases filed in Louisiana. They also brought on a new name partner who I think is also a big time trial lawyer.
I may have a very interesting out of the box 100 percent appellate job coming open in 2024. Working for former GDC attorney.

AZA has a few but they recently hired an associate so I doubt they can hire again. Kelsi is great though.
Beck has some, Yetter has a good group.
HayBoo has some, V&E Houston has a few.
Wright Close is great but it's not Cravath pay scale. But check them out. Dubois Jefferson too.
It's just very hard to find 100% percent appellate jobs. I've tried to place a few candidates over the years and it's a super hard search. Most end up splitting appellate
