Any tips for interviews? I am a top performer at the job but when it comes to interviews (case studies, behavioural, etc) I blank out and take long to think. It’s holding me back from getting a better job which is frustrating. Eg. colleagues worse at the job are getting offers for roles I am getting rejected for. Appreciate any advice.

Just wanted to say you're not alone. Same here, buddy. 🫂

Here's something I've recently been trying with some success (measured in both anxiety levels and outcomes): Since I'm an excellent teammate and would want myself on a team, I've started reframing interviews as an extension of a work conversation rather than an once-in-a-lifetime audition. This alleviates pressure and I end up pretending that I'm in a work setting with the interviewers. After all, they just want to see what it's like to work with me and what my values are, which aren't always obvious on our resumes.

Also, I worked with an executive coach, who pointed out that I was preparing to be perfect when I really just needed to be prepared to be present. I found myself getting stuck and finding it slow to respond when I was trying to memorize every single thing I wanted to say when I just needed to remember three 3 main points I needed to make. That's helped a lot. Of course, I write out every possible iteration of what I want to say first to get out the words, but then I just naturally end up memorizing 3 main points (and bullet points, never entire sentences).

Hope this helps. 😊

What MC1 said. Just be present, don’t be afraid to have an informal but longer work conversation. Works wonders.

Has anyone here participated in the year long remote year program? My company is fully remote in the US and is in general supportive of me going but concerned about local and international tax liability. Remote year doesn’t share tax advice and our HR team is small. Curious to hear from people at companies who have done it before and if there were any issues from a tax or payroll perspective. Trying to get the formal approval from my company before officially signing up, advice welcome!

I recently got diagnosed with ADHD. I'm 31 and found this only because b school and post mba consulting job was/is much more challenging than anything I did before. What I'm confused about is that even as a teenager I could read entire books overnight. But the last two years of high school I started selectively zoning out and the problem has become worse since. I just realised it now. My doctor has suggested treating depression (I was also unaware of this) with Wellbutrin first (contd)

Also I feel the lack of organization in personal life blows into professional as well. If you are a consultant how do u deal with it ?

Hello All - I struggle with time management. I take medication but I have no idea whether a task will take 40 mins or 4 hours. Because of this, I over commit and under deliver. Also, having been on the receiving end of criticism, over time I have developed a perfectionist streak. I won't turn it in if it is good enough. How do you break out of this habit?

Any resources to help the brain structure tasks and make better estimates? Much appreciated, thanks!

My psychiatrist today revealed to me that I may have ADHD, still a hypothesis that he is still exploring but from my personal experiences and discussions with therapist, it seems likely.

One example of personal experience is my ongoing prep for case studies as I'm interviewing with a number of firms. I do struggle to keep focus and generally take a bit longer to finish them, specifically the structuring of the case. Does anybody else feel the same way and any recommendations to overcome this?

First day of 30mg vyvanse today. Had a rush of energy and hyperfocus (too much so) about 2-4 hours in, but had a complete crash 5hrs after taking the pill (just a wave of fatigue, felt very good after a quick 15min nap actually) and not sure if it had any effect after. Is this normal? Should I stick it out for a few days or is this a big sign that I’m not on the right meds/dose? Nervous to keep trialling this during the workday since a midday crash is not ideal. Appreciate any advice!
