I stayed at the w Santiago and loved it!!! They treated me very well. Also loved Easter island - Went for 3 days. Chile is surprisingly expensive
Used points for w santiago, stayed 2 days. Then got an Airbnb. The food and drinks in Santiago were wildly expensive. They have an income inequality issue. I was there in 2020 precovid.
If you are interested in poetry, go to one of Pablo Neruda’s houses. I went to the one in La Isla negra (near Valparaiso), where he’s buried, and was in awe of his many unusual collections. If you are interested in poetry, also read the novel “Chilean Poets.” I love reading about places that I travel to and this book is so good (and a good primer about the country’s value on the written word).
I’ll be there in September too 😀
