Once when I was waiting tables, I had a guy pay me cash. The change was 45 cents, which I didn't give back to him because like who wants that. He then asked where the change was, and when I explained that I didn't give back the loose change, he made a big stink about how dollars and cents matter and didn't leave me a tip. He was a republican staffer on capitol hill.

Being ghosted by someone who I thought was genuine. We were seeing each other for over a month (I know it’s not long), but everything went so well until he just disappeared completely for a few days. It’s not my first time being ghosted, I was ghosted by a guy who I was dating for over a year. I tell myself if I can get over that, I can get over this. Maybe it's because I'm in tax, but I've never dealt with these unreasonable Partners people speak of. I've never been told I can't go on vacation, or I've never been yelled at for not being in the office long enough. I've also never been iced out because of one mistake here or there.

During my first year, I struggled, and the partners I worked with went out of their way to take their time with me to help me learn, as did some of the senior-level Associates.

I’m curious to know if anyone has experience working part-time in architecture? I have been working for large international firms in NYC for the past 10 years. So I work all day every day. My evenings and often the weekends are all absorbed by work duties. Working part-time would allow me to find a better balance, and carve out space for side gigs and eventually start my own firm. Been working as an Assistant Technician for 3 years (2 years excluding pandemic) pay is £21k now £22 adjusted for inflation. I will be completing my Part 1 in architecture but also have a degree in Technology, should I find a different company after graduation or take roles offering £30-45k as an Architectural Technologist/Technician.
