Gunderson’s tech transactions group is great

like

Depends what type of IP transactions. Unless you’re in the minority and want to do deal support, look to tech firms in NY like Gunderson, Cooley, Fenwick, Perkins. But not WSGR, heard bad things generally about their NY office

like

What have you heard about WSGR NY? I haven’t heard many good things about Gunderson’s NY office.

Gunderson’s NY office is wonderful. It’s been a really busy year but the people are amazing and exit opps are great

like

Not the first time I’ve heard that!

What market?

Sorry wasnt clear. NY big law group. Not in house.

Ever had one of those days where everything is just making you cringe so bad, to the point all you want to do is sit on the ground and cry?

Today is one of those days, and even when I know things will get better or "this too shall pass", I am sad, I can't enjoy whatever good there is...I feel powerless.

Does anyone know if this is normal? I joined a vault 100 firm in September last year. The firm put me on tier 7. In January I had the associate review and everything was normal. After a couple of weeks, I got the call from the hiring partner telling my bonus and new salary (because of the firm-wide salary increase). I realized I still get paid as a 7 year associate. The partner said because I joined the firm later in the year, it’s normal not to advance in the next year. Is it? Thanks!

I’m a first year associate (almost second year). I work at a national firm and I’m not a litigator. When I started with the firm, I was told I could work out of any office. Long story short, I regret choosing the office that I chose. I’d like to transfer to another office - is that a difficult ask? I’m licensed in the state I’d like to transfer to. I don’t know how to make this request.

Foreign LLM student here. I plan to take the NY bar exam in February. I’m thinking of taking a bar prep course (most likely Barbri). They offer two options: the “traditional” course (which lasts around 2.5 months) and an extended 6-month course. The difference in price is substantial – 2.5k for the traditional course vs 6k for the extended one. Any thoughts/recommendations on which one I should take? In case it is helpful, I come from a civil law country. Thanks!
