Address the review notes timely and with a smile.
Review notes are annoying but they’re also a means to an end. The person reviewing is also going to be judged on the work product that’s presented to the manager so they’re probably being thorough for a reason and sometimes you see something new the next time you look at something. I would also try to make sure that you’re internalizing the comments and improving your subsequent workpapers. If the timing of the comments is bothering you, maybe bring it up to them?
It's possible they don't catch every issue the first time around especially if the workpapers/forms are large. If this is someone you're going to replace then just be thankful they're giving you any feedback at all instead of making the fixes themselves without you knowing any better.
Lots of times if you have a lot of notes to begin with, the reviewer needs them cleared to be able to see other items. Sounds like you need to pay more attention to detail before putting things into review.
I would agree but their nitpicky review notes that come after I clear everything. They are mainly changes to fit the preference of the person
That’s how you learn. That situation will also encourage you to start reviewing your own work before turning it in.
@RSM1 that's what it mainly is, just personal preference. Some review notes I agree are a good learning experience but these personal preference items are just time consuming to change.
I’m one of those reviewers. I’m overbooked and scrambling every day of the week, including weekends. Often the rework comes from my reviewer. I really feel bad every time this happens, and I am sorry that it does.
Oof that sucks that this person doesn’t include all review notes at once - the endless stream of them sounds exhausting! I’d say a lot of this depends on how much of a time crunch you’re under. If you’re slammed for time, they’re just doing the best they can and you should try to just hang in there. If things are at a steady and somewhat manageable pace, I’d try to set up time to talk and ask if they could please finish compiling all of their review comments before sending across because the multiple sets of comments for one round of review is making you less efficient and slowing you down since you have to double back to something multiple times
