Anyways, the pay was intriguing and the job was a high level scientific advisor so I did interviews. At the last interview, at the end I was told the job was for management but I prepared for a different kind of interview. I am waiting for an offer or rejection letter. I understand the importance of citations. It's a wonderful way to show how your work builds on previous research. But sometimes I just want to write an article that says "I think this" without having to cite everyone who ever said that before me.
