Not at all. All the “Trump will be good for business” optimism after the election was always nonsense. Stock prices are down, GDP has slowed, international markets are tighter and hostile from tariffs, companies are culling headcount which is driving up unemployment and pushing down consumer spending…it’s all bad news because conservative economics is about enriching the few at the cost of the many.

So. I will say this to all of you. Things don’t look great, and this incompetent administration will be here for another 4 years in the best case scenario.
However… nobody truly knows how things will shake out. I’m a freelancer and I had a really strong start of this year, which I was not expecting. It could’ve been just luck or an unusual coincidence. But remember when the pandemic first started and we all thought we would WFH for a couple weeks while this COVID thing would blow over? Then we all got a sense of how dire a global pandemic would be. Then agencies started laying people off left and right. Everybody was losing their jobs… and then when everyone was sure of a recession, retailers had record years, agencies were fighting over freelancers who were charging rockstar rates.

Nobody… and I mean nobody… predicted that.

So… you never know 🤷🏻‍♂️
